What are the Reciprocal Pronouns? Examples & Definition

Reciprocal pronouns can also be used to describe things that are happening to two people at the same time. For example, you might say "The two of them are getting sick," or "They are both falling asleep."
Definition-

Reciprocal pronouns are words that represent two people who are doing something together. The most common reciprocal pronouns are "each other" and "one another."

Reciprocal pronouns can be used to describe relationships between people, as well as actions that are being done together. For example, you might say "The two of them are getting along great," or "They are helping each other out."

It's important to use reciprocal pronouns correctly, because using them incorrectly can change the meaning of your sentence. For example, if you say "The two of them are getting along great," but you meant "The two of them are getting along poorly," the meaning of your sentence would be changed.

Types-

There are three types of reciprocal pronouns:

1. Each other
2. One another
3. Themselves

Examples-

1. Each other -

We help each other out.

They are always there for each other

2. One another -

They looked at one another.

3. Themselves -

They congratulated themselves.

They served for themselves.

Conclusion-

Reciprocal pronouns are words that represent two people who are doing something together. The most common reciprocal pronouns are "each other" and "one another."
