Superlative Adjectives

Superlative adjectives are those that are used to describe the highest or lowest degree of something.
Introduction

For example, "best" is a superlative adjective that would describe the highest degree of quality. Superlative adjectives are usually formed by adding the suffix "-est" to the end of the adjective, as in "biggest", "smallest", "fastest", etc.

When using superlative adjectives, it is important to remember that they should only be used when comparing three or more things. For example, saying "Jimmy is the best basketball player on the team" would be incorrect, because you are only comparing two people. The correct way to say this would be "Jimmy is the best basketball player on the team, followed by Sarah and then John."

Rules

When using superlative adjectives, be sure to use the correct word order. The word order for a superlative sentence is:

Subject + Verb + the + Superlative Adjective + Object

For example, the correct way to say "This is the best coffee I've ever had" would be: "I've never had better coffee."

If you're ever unsure about whether or not to use a superlative adjective, a good rule of thumb is to ask yourself if you could replace the word with "very." For example, you would not say "Jimmy is very best basketball player on the team" because you cannot replace "best" with "very" in that sentence.

Conclusion

Remember, superlative adjectives are a great way to describe the highest or lowest degree of something, but be sure to use them correctly! You can also download our app from the playstore or visit our website.
